Zur Luminale 06 fand im Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe (ZKM) die Ausstellung Lichtkunst aus Kunstlicht statt. Eine bisher nie gesehene Überblicksausstellung zum Thema. Der Katalog wurde zur Ausstellung nicht fertig sondern erschien erst im Nachhinein. Der Grund: Es handelt sich um ein wahrhaft enzyklopädisches Werk zur Lichtkunst von den Anfängen bis in die Gegenwart. Mindestens so gut wie das Buch ist die Website zur Ausstellung. Hier finden sich u.a. Künstlerbiographien und Literaturverzeichnisse, die nicht nur potenziellen Luminale 08-Teilnehmern dabei helfen können, Ideen zu entwickeln und Pioniere und Beispielgeber zu entdecken. www.zkm.de

Die Targetti Light Art Collection gehört zu den bedeutendsten Sammlungen von Lichtkunst. Targetti gehört auch zu den Luminale-Teilnehmern der ersten Stunde und zeigte eine Auswahl von Objekten bereits 2002 in Frankfurt. Ebenfalls eine Dokumentation für Lichtkunst-Projekte bietet die Akademie Licht in Berching an, die alljährlich die Berchinale veranstaltet und Fachseminare zu vielen Lichtthemen anbietet. www.akademie-licht.com<During the Luminale in 2006, there was an exhibition called Lichtkunst aus Kunstlicht (“Light Art with Artificial Light”) in the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (Centre for Art and Media Technology) in Karlsruhe. It was the first exhibition to offer such an overview of the subject. The catalogue was not available at the time and only published subsequently, the reason being that it is a truly encyclopaedic work that covers lighting from its inception as an art form to the present day. As good as the book is the web site dealing with the exhibition, from which, besides biographies of leading lighting artists and pioneers and a bibliography, those thinking of participating in the Luminale 2008, and others too, should be able to glean inspiration and ideas for their own projects. www.zkm.de

The Targetti Light Art Collection is one of the most important collections of light art in the world. Targetti was one of the first companies to participate in the Luminale when, back in 2002, it exhibited a selection of objects in Frankfurt.
