Die Arbeiten reichen von kleinen, wirkungsvollen Eingriffen in das soziale Gefüge der Stadt bis zu Bauten, die mit ihrer Nutzungsidee und Gestalt ihrem Umfeld einen neuen positiven Impuls geben.     Die Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung Berlin lobt den ersten europaweiten Urban Intervention Award 2010 aus und fordert zur Teilnahme auf. Ziel des Urban Intervention Award ist es, maßgeblich zur Verbesserung der Lebensqualität im urbanen Umfeld beizutragen. Dazu gehören beispielsweise auch Licht-Installationen, die Orte und Plätze temporär inszenieren und ihnen neue Qualitäten verleihen wie beispielweise während der Luminale immer wieder prakiziert. The purpose of the Urban Intervention Award is to contribute decisively to the improvement of the quality of life in the urban sphere. Diesmal mit dem Schwerpunkt: KUNST MACHT BILDUNG. Mehrere Theaterpremieren, Gastspiele und eine „mobile Bildungsblase“ im öffentlichen Raum unter dem Titel GOETHES WUNDERKAMMER stehen im Mittelpunkt. Ein Rückblick auf rund 30 Jahre Public Art in New York und das Engagement des Public Art Fund. Einige Lichtkunst-Projekte sind dabei wie „Tribute in Light“ am World Trade Center, Projektionen von Jenny Holzer oder James Yamadas „Starry Night“. Mehr>

Bringing 2D images to our tridimensional world is at the heart of all our projects. Simple lines, minimalist effects, unsophisticated materials: we are simplicity enthusiasts.   • It’s Summertime in Electroland: The Hollywood Shadows

    Electroland ist ein Team (Cameron McNall und Damon Seeley in Los Angeles, das Objekte erfindet, interaktive Erfahrungen generiert und groß angelegte Kunstprojekte im öffentlichen Raum verwirklicht. Jedes Projekt ist besonders und bedarf des Einsatzes einer Vielzahl von Medien, besonders Licht, Klang, Bilder, Architektur und Interaktivität. Zum Beispiel: Das Hollywood Schatten Projekt: Groß dimensionierte Skulpturen von typischen Filmszenen sind so aufgestellt, dass Sie ihre Schatten auf nahe gelegene Gebäude werden, die allesamt mit dem Filmgeschäft zu tun haben, so dass die Schatten an den Ort der Filmproduktion zurückkehren.     Electroland is a team (Cameron McNall and Damon Seeley) in Los Angeles that creates objects, interactive experiences and large-scale public art projects. Each project is site-specific and may employ a broad range of media, including light, sound, images, architecture and interactivity. For example: The Hollywood Shadow Project: Large-scale sculptures of iconic movie scenes are strategically situated to cast shadows onto the walls of nearby buildings, all of which house movie-making acitivities, resulting in shadows returning to the site of their production.   • „Golden Nica“ der Ars Electronica für Pollstream„Golden Nica“, Prize of the Ars Electronica, for Pollstream


    The jury of the Ars Electronica writes: „Pollstream – Nuage Vert transforms clouds into projection surfaces. As such, these indefinable, constantly and chaotically changing products of the condensation of water vapor become media bearing political ideas and messages. Or aestheticized symbols of environmental pollution caused by carbon emissions. Pollstream – Nuage Vert was developed in collaboration with experts in laser technology, computer science, electrical engineering, energy generation and air quality monitoring. Development commenced in 2002 and concluded in February 2008 with a performance in Helsinki that impressively demonstrated how art is capable of encompassing an entire city—its public sphere, its industry and its inhabitants—and unfolding sociopolitical relevance. Pollstream – Nuage Vert is the recipient of the 2008 Golden Nica in the Hybrid Art category. More>Die Jury der Ars Electronica schreibt: „Pollstream – Nuage Vert wandelt Wolken zu Projektionsflächen. Die undefinierbaren, sich permanent und chaotisch verändernden Kondensationsprodukte des Wasserdampfs werden dabei zum Trägermedium für politische Ideen und Botschaften. Oder zum ästhetisierten Sinnbild der zunehmenden Emissionsbelastung. Pollstream – Nuage Vert wurde gemeinsam mit ExpertInnen der Lasertechnik, Computerwissenschaften, Elektrotechnik, energieproduzierenden Industrie sowie der Luftgüteüberwachung entwickelt. Abschluss der 2002 gestarteten Entwicklungsphase bildete die Performance im Februar 2008 in Helsinki, die eindrucksvoll vor Augen führte, wie Kunst eine ganze Stadt – ihren öffentlichen Raum, ihre Industrie, ihre BewohnerInnen – mit einzubeziehen und gesellschaftspolitische Relevanz zu entfalten im Stande ist.     Amsterdam. Für Dream Amsterdam hat der japanische visual artist Ryoji Ikeda reines Licht als Material für seine Intervention an vier Orten verwendet. Die Arbeit trägt den Titel „spectra :: Amsterdam“. Seine intensiv leuchtenden Installationen erscheinen mysterious und setzen vier Orte im Stadtbild miteinander in Verbindung. Mehr>
