For 156 years a light celebration is committed in Lyons. La Fête des Lumières has its roots in a catholic thanks procession. Today it is also an event of the city marketing and the urban development of the town. Since 1989 Lyons has a light master plan whose realization served substantially to change the image of Lyons in France.
