Sie ist im Archäologischen Museum Frankfurt zu sehen. Die Stadt Turin feiert alljährlich in der Vorweihnachtszeit das international angesehene Festival ‚Luci d’Artista‘. Das Licht ist Motiv und Thema des Impressionismus – das Malen en plein air ist eines der Kennzeichen dieses Kunststils. Seurat hat sich in intensiver Weise mit dem Phänomen Licht und Farbe beschäftigt in seiner Freiluftmalerei, aber auch in seiner Ateliermalerei. Der französische Neoimpressionist Georges Seurat gilt heute als eine der Ikonen der bildenden Kunst des 19. Jahrhunderts und als wichtigster Vertreter des von ihm entwickelten Pointillismus. Er komponierte seine Werke akribisch aus zahllosen kleinen, nebeneinander angeordneten Farbtupfern, die, sobald sie sich auf der Netzhaut des Betrachters vermischen, einzigartige Farbwelten entstehen lassen. Kein Bildthema vermag so viel über Seurats Kunst zu erzählen wie die Figur in der Landschaft. Hell-Dunkel-Kontraste umspielen und akzentuieren die Figuren und verleihen ihnen eine unwirkliche Präsenz. Light is the motive and theme of impressionism – painting en plein air is one of the hallmarks of this artistic style. Seurat studied light and colour as a phenomenon in an intensive manner both in his outdoor art and in his atelier. The French neo-impressionist Georges Seurat is one of the icons of art in the 19th century and one of the most important protagonists of pointillism, which he developed. He composed his works out of countless small dots next to each other which conjure up unique worlds of colour when they merge in the eye of the viewer. No picture tells us as much about Seurats art as the Figure in a Landscape. Contrasts of light and dark caress and accent the figures and lend them an unreal presence. Die Laserinstallation erstreckt sich über den abgedunkelten linken Teil des historischen Wasserreservoirs unter dem Ausstellungsgebäude Mathildenhöhe. Dort schießen sechs Laserstrahlen ca. 20 cm über der Wasseroberfläche bis hin in die Tiefe zur Rückwand und vermessen quasi die Breite der Raumfluchten zwischen den Säulen. Die Betrachter, die den Raum durchqueren, sehen sich unmittelbar mit den gleißend-roten Laserstrahlen konfrontiert und müssen entscheiden, ob sie sich lediglich auf der Bahn zwischen den Laserstrahlen bewegen, darüber hinwegsteigen oder den Strahl kreuzen – wodurch sie den Rest des Strahlenverlaufs kurzfristig unterbrechen. Der synthetische Sound sowie die spannenden Spiegelungen und Verzerrungen auf der Wasseroberfläche werden die Raumatmosphäre intensivieren. Here six laser beams shoot to the back wall approx. 20 cm above the water surface and seem to measure the width between the pillars. Observers, who cross the area, are confronted by the red laser beams and must decide whether stay on the track between the beams, climb over them or cross the beam – which interrupts the trajectory of the beam for a moment. The synthetic sound and the exciting reflections and distortions on the water surface intensify the atmosphere. -

Die Installation „Polar/Licht” sucht nach Orientierung und hinterfragt gewohnte Betrachtungsweisen.A moon, a dim sun. This video work is mirrored in a glass brick, the signal refracted in the glas becomes a changing light object. The installation „Polar/Light” searches for orientation and questions our habitual points of view. -
