    Triad (Berlin) wurde vom chinesischen Organisationkomitee der Weltausstellung beauftragt, einen der großen Themen-Pavillons zu gestalten. „The Urban Planet“ zeigt die globalen Herausforderungen, die die Verstädterung der Welt mit sich bringt. Entstanden ist eine faszinierende Themenwelt, die die Probleme aber auch die Lösungsansätze beschreibt. Mehr> Commissioned by the Chinese organizing committee of the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the German company Triad has designed one of the main theme pavilions – the “Urban Planet.” The pavilion addresses both the complex processes shaping the urbanization of our planet and global challenges that go along with it. The scenography combines traditions of Western narratives with motives taken from the Chinese Feng shui heritage. With a two-part structure, the exhibition focuses on the ambivalent character of cities: On the one hand, they destruct the environment, on the other, they are also places for creating value, prosperity and technological innovations.     Detail.de veröffentlicht eine Dokumentation von Frank Kaltenbach: „Abends verwandelt sich nicht nur das Expo Gelände, sondern ganz Schanghai in eine leuchtende Zauberwelt. Brücken, Hochstraßen und Fassaden sind angestrahlt oder mit selbstleuchtender LED-Technologie bestückt. Während die Hüllen der Länderpavillons in Pudong wie Laternen von innen heraus zu glühen beginnen, spielt sich auf den Gitterschalen der Expo-Achse und den dreidimensional texturierten Medienfassaden in Puxi ein Spektakel an Projektionen ab, das durch die Spiegelung im Fluss noch verdoppelt wird und selbst in China seinesgleichen sucht. Doch in Schanghai gehen die Lichter früher aus als man von einer Weltmetropole erwarten würde. Pünktlich um 23:30 Uhr schalten sich die Glitzerfassaden ab, säubert eine unnachgiebige Putzkolonne die Uferpromenade mit dem Strahl eines Feuerwehrschlauches vor angesammeltem Unrad und den letzten Flaneuren. Das Expogelände ist eine halbe Stunde länger geöffnet, die Pavillons schließen jedoch bereits um 22:00 Uhr.“ Mehr>

Bridges, overpasses and facades are illuminated or decorated with self-lighting LED technology. While the exteriors of the country pavilions in Pudong begin to glow from the inside like lanterns, the glittering shells of the Expo axis and the 3D-textured media facades in Puxi display spectacular projections that reflect on the river, creating a unique scene.In Shanghai the lights go out earlier than one would expect in a world metropolis. At 23:30 on the dot, the glittering facades are turned off and a dedicated cleaning crew clears the Bund area with a fire hose, watched by the last stragglers from the Expo. The Expo location is open half an hour longer – the pavilions themselves close at 22:00, though.“ More>

    Visionäre Räume erleben, das verspricht die Expo Shanghai, die vom 1. Mai bis 31. Oktober Besucher aus aller Welt anziehen wird. Unter dem Motto „Better City – Better Life“ präsentieren sich auf der bisher größten Weltausstellung Länder, Firmen und Institutionen, darunter auch das chinesische Staatsunternehmen State Grid, das mit einer medialen Architekturinszenierung überzeugt. Die Magic Box, konzipiert von Atelier Brückner aus Stuttgart, entführt den Besucher in imaginäre Welten. Sie ist das pulsierende Herz des State Grid Pavillons, der die Aufgaben und Visionen des Unternehmens in überraschenden Bildern vor Augen führt.
