Seit zehn Jahren begleitet die Luminale alle zwei Jahre die Messe Light+Building. Sie hat sich mit zuletzt 140.000 Besuchern (2010) als die Biennale der Lichtkultur international etablieren können. Die Luminale bildet das Abend-Programm für die 183.000 Messebesucher der Light+Building.
Die Kombination von Fachmesse und Stadterlebnis verwandelt FrankfurtRheinMain in einen einzigartigen Treffpunkt rund um das Thema Licht und versammelt die Szene von den Herstellern bis zu den Designern und Künstlern.
