Im Offenbacher Hafen legen wir an und besuchen die Lichtinszenierungen in der Heyne Fabrik und im Hafengelände. Nach ca. zwei Stunden geht es wieder zurück nach Frankfurt. Jetzt – in der Dunkelheit der Nacht – präsentieren sich die Lichtinszenierungen entlang des Mainufers. Zum Abschluss laden wir Sie auf das Freideck ein und runden die Tour mit einem spritzigen Prosecco ab.Change of perspective. Experience Luminale 2010 from the river Main. While the ship heads through calm waters for Offenbach enjoy the unhindered view of the Frankfurt skyline. In the harbour in Offenbach we will land and visit the lighting installations in the Heyne Factory and in the harbour. After about two hours we will return to Frankfurt. Now – in the dark of night – the illuminations along the banks of the Main come to light. Finally we invite you to the open deck and to round off the tour with a glass of sparkling Prosecco.

    Viele Gebäude werden mit Strom und Wärme aus Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung versorgt, ob aus Fernwärme oder Blockheizkraftwerken. Mehrere Dächer öffentlicher Gebäude bieten zudem Platz für Photovoltaikanlagen, deren überwiegender Anteil in den Händen der Bürger/innen der Stadt Frankfurt liegt.

    SOUVENIR FRANKFURT presents a shiny souvenir, specially developed for Luminale 2010, which will be available at the temporary conpet-store in Kaiserpassage and at various Luminale locations. The display is a mobile installation made up of overlapping LED elements. As visitors detach single LEDs from the sculpture it is constantly animated and evolving. By wearing the LED souvenir everyone becomes an active participant of the Luminale. The detached LED elements turn into souvenirs for visitors.SOUVENIR FRANKFURT präsentiert ein eigens für die Luminale 2010 entwickeltes leuchtendes Souvenir, das im temporären Concept-Store in der Kaiserpassage und an verschiedenen Luminale-Spielorten erhältlich ist. Durch das Anbringen der LED-Souvenirs an der Kleidung kann jeder aktiv Teil der Luminale werden.
    Die mobile Installation besteht aus übereinanderliegenden LED-Elementen. Durch Entfernen einzelner LEDs aus der Skulptur wird sie animiert und verändert während der gesamten Luminale kontinuierlich ihr Erscheinungsbild. Die entfernten LED-Elemente werden für die Besucher der Luminale zum Souvenir.

  • LIGHT ♥ FRANKFURTLIGHT ♥ FRANKFURT

    LIGHT ♥ FRANKFURT ist eine Anspielung auf den unbeschwerten Liebesbeweis im klassischen I♥NY Logo. Ein stilisiertes Herz wird aus sich kreuzenden blutroten Laserstrahlen kreiert, Leidenschaft, Liebe und starke Emotionen symbolisierend, hervorgerufen durch das Medium Licht. Als Designer lieben wir das Medium Licht. Gerade Frankfurt regt dazu an, sich mit Beleuchtung zu beschäftigen. Wir glauben, dass Licht, wenn möglich, unsere Emotionen erwidern würde. Unsere Installation lässt Laserstrahlen explosionsartig aus einer zentralen Quelle schießen. Der innere Kern nimmt dabei die Form eines Herzens an. Einige Strahlen brechen aus, strahlen in die Tiefen des Tunnels und fügen damit der Installation eine dritte Dimension zu. Nebel macht die Laserstrahlen sichtbar, lässt sie aber dennoch mystisch erscheinen. LIGHT ♥ FRANKFURT is a play upon the jovial expression of love declared in the classic I♥NY logo. The stylized heart is rendered by criss-crossing blood red laser beams, that symbolise the passion, love and strong emotion that lighting can inspire. As designers we love the medium of light, and Frankfurt is a city that encourages and embraces good lighting, so we believe that if possible light would return the same sentiment. The installation itself consists of laser beams emerging from a central source as from an explosion, with its inner core taking up the shape of a heart. Some of the beams breake out and are emitted into the depth of the tunnel, adding a third dimension to the installation. Haze is created and used to make the laser beams visible, yet make them appear mystical.

    Licht.Anamorphose verdichtet den zentralen innerstädtischen Ort Hauptwache in ein räumliches Lichträtsel. Die Inszenierung formt den Raum, weitet ihn und lädt dazu ein, das Licht.Raum.Rätsel zu entziffern. Das Konzept von Prof. Wolfgang Rang wurde mit dem Mainova-Preis „Licht!Kunst!Effizienz!“ ausgezeichnet und wird zur Luminale mit Unterstützung des Projektions-Spezialisten Stark (Paolo Buroni, Cagli, Italien) umgesetzt. Light.Anamorphosis consolidates the central inner city Hauptwache area to a spacial lighting conundrum. The illumination forms the space, expands it and invites us to solve the Light.Space.Conundrum. The concept by Prof. Wolfgang Rang was awarded the Mainova “Licht!Kunst!Effizienz!” prize and will be realised for Luminale supported by the projection specialist Stark (Paolo Buroni, Cagli, Italy).

  • Pecha Kucha Night @ Luminale Pecha Kucha Night @ Luminale

    20 Bilder x 20 Sekunden. Das sind die Grundregeln der Pecha Kucha Night, einer neuen, kurzweiligen Form eines Vortragsabends. Im Schnelldurchgang können Teilnehmer ihre Ideen, Arbeiten und Projekte vorstellen. Kein Vortrag dauert länger als 20 mal 20 Sekunden, also 6:40 Minuten. In Frankfurt am Main werden die Pecha Kucha Nights vom Deutschen Architekturmuseum (DAM) organisiert.

    „Pecha Kucha“ ist ein japanischer Ausdruck und bedeutet frei übersetzt Tratsch oder wirres Geplapper. Die Idee zu Pecha Kucha stammt von Klein Dytham Architecture in Tokyo. Pecha Kucha ist eine Plattform für alle, die mit Architektur, Design, Mode und Kunst zu tun haben. Pecha Kucha möchte eine möglichst bunte Mischung von Teilnehmern zusammenbringen – von bekannten Architekten bis hin zu Studenten, Absolventen und jungen Büros, die zum ersten Mal ihre Projekte zeigen.

Participants can present their ideas, works and projects in a rapid performance. No talk lasts longer than 20 times 20 seconds, i.e. 6:40 minutes. In Frankfurt am Main the Pecha Kucha Nights are organised by the Deutsche Architekturmuseum (DAM).

    „Pecha Kucha“ is a Japanese expression and freely translated means gossip or confused chattering. The idea of Pecha Kucha originates from Klein Dytham Architecture in Tokyo. Pecha Kucha is a platform for anyone who is involved in architecture, design, fashion and art. Pecha Kucha aims to bring together a colourful mixture of participants – from well known architects to students, graduates and new offices showing their projects for the first time.

  • Colours of Europe – Gateway to the urban CityColours of Europe – Gateway to the urban City

    Tower 185 ist Frankfurts jüngstes Hochhaus und das Tor zum neuen Europaviertel. Das unter Nachhaltigkeitsaspekten entwickelte und noch im Bau befindliche Gebäude präsentiert sich mit einer Inszenierung der Baugerüste. Mit Hilfe modernster, stromsparender LED-Technik werden in einem ständigen Wechsel die Farben der europäischen Nationalfahnen auf die Gerüste projiziert und verweisen so auf die Internationalität des Gebäudes und des Standortes Frankfurt.Tower 185 is Frankfurt’s youngest skyscraper and the gate to the new European Quarter. Under aspects of sustainability and – still under construction – the building presents itself with a staging of the scaffolds. With the help of the most modern, power-saving LED technology the colours of the European national flags are projected in a constant change on the scaffoldings and refer thus to the internationality of the building and the location Frankfurt.

  • Börsenplatz: Puls der StadtBörsenplatz: Pulse of the City

    Jede Stadt fühlt sich anders an. Sie hat ihren ganz eigenen Puls, der durch viele Faktoren beeinflusst ist und ihren Flair bestimmt. Zur Luminale 2010 wird der Puls von FrankfurtRheinMain sichtbar und erlebbar gemacht. BlueMars misst den Puls der Stadt. Verschiedene Sonden nehmen ihn an unterschiedlichen Stellen ab: Besucher der Installation, die Konversation im Internet, Börsenkurse, Verkehrsdaten, Wetterdaten etc. Leuchtende Kuben im öffentlichen Raum repräsentieren die Messpunkte auf dem Börsenplatz vor dem Gebäude der IHK Frankfurt und an der Untermainbrücke. Aus den gesammelten Daten werden grafische Animationen generiert und auf den Kuben in Lichtspiele übersetzt. Jeder Messpunkt bekommt so eine eigene visuelle Repräsentanz und erzeugt im Zusammenspiel eine ganzheitliche Impression.Each city feels different. It has its own pulse, which is influenced by many factors and determines its flair. For Luminale 2010 FrankfurtRheinMain’s pulse will be made visible and tangible. BlueMars will take the city’s pulse. Different probes will measure it at different points: visitors to the installation, market index, internet conversations, traffic data, meteorological data etc. Shining cubes in the public area at Börsenplatz in front of the IHK building and at the Untermainbrücke bridge represent these probes. From the data collected graphic animations will be generated and translated into moving light pictures on the cubes. Each measuring point is given its own visual representation.
