Die Veranstaltung im Innenhof des Baseler Ovals wird unterstützt von Artemide GmbH und findet am Samstag, den 10.4. um 20.00 Uhr statt.Wir suchen anregende und aufregende Projekte, die technologisch innovativ sind, die Lebensqualität und die Umweltverträglichkeit verbessern. Wir suchen Licht-Installationen mit Entertainmentqualitäten, Kunstwerke und Kunstaktionen im öffentlichen Raum, Kunststücke, die interaktiv sind, Geschichten erzählen und die sozialen Dimensionen des Lichtes sichtbar machen.

Die Gewinner des Lichtkunst-Wettbewerbs „Mainova@Luminale 2010: Licht!Kunst!Effizienz!“ stehen fest: Der Frankfurter Energieversorger Mainova unterstützt zwei Kunstprojekte, die im Rahmen Luminale 2010 präsentiert werden. Der Hauptpreis von 30.000 Euro geht an das Atelier Rang für das Projekt „Licht.Anamorphose Frankfurt“. Die „Licht.Anamorphose Frankfurt“ verdichtet die Hauptwache in Frankfurt zu einem räumlichen Lichträtsel. Der Nachwuchspreis geht an das Projekt „Light to go“ der Studentin Sophia Polywka von der Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach (HfG). Ihr Projekt wird im Palmengarten in Frankfurt zu sehen sein. The winners of the light art-competition „Mainova@Luminale 2010: Light! Art! Efficiency!“ are announced: The Frankfurt energy provider Mainova supports two art projects of Luminale 2010. The first prize (30,000 Euros) goes to the Atelier Rang for the project „Light. Anamorphosis Frankfurt“. This project transforms the Frankfurt Hauptwache (place) into a spatial light riddle. The prize for the younger designers goes to the project„ Light to go“ of Sophia Polywka, student of Academy of design and art Offenbach (HfG). Light + Sound, Light + Media, Light + E-Motion, das sind die Themen der Luminale 2010. Licht bewegt, verwandelt Atmosphären, hellt Stimmungen und Gefühle auf. Licht Installationen entdecken öffentliche Räume, die ansonsten ein Schatten-Dasein fristen. Schon zum fünften Mal findet die Lichtkultur-Biennale parallel zur Weltleitmesse Light+Building vom 11. bis 16.April in Frankfurt RheinMain statt. Rund 150 Licht-Ereignisse sind in Vorbereitung. Künstler, Designer, Performance und Visual Artists, VJs & DJs, Architekten und Ingenieure sind dem Angebot der Luminale gefolgt, Museen, Galerien, Industriearchitektur, Baustellen, Monumente, Fassaden, Plätze und Parks für die Zeit der Messe in ein internationales Lichtlabor zu verwandeln.Light + Sound, Light + Media, Light + E-Motion are the topics for Luminale 2010. Lighting animates, changes the atmosphere, lightens the mood and emotions. Lighting installations reveal public rooms, which would otherwise have lived in the shadows. The fifth biennial event for lighting will be taking place in Frankfurt Rhine Main from 11 to 16 April, at the same time as the leading international fair Light+Building. Around 150 lighting events are in preparation. Artists, designers, performance and visual artists, VJ & DJs, architects and engineers have accepted the offer from Luminale to transform museums, galleries, industrial architecture, building sites, monuments, façades, squares and parks into an international lighting laboratory for the duration of the fair.

Anfang Januar wurde in Dubai das mit Abstand höchste Gebäude der Welt feierlich eröffnet. Der 828 Meter hohe, neu in Burj Khalifa umbenannte, Turm hat mehr als 160 Etagen. Bei gutem Wetter ist der Wolkenkratzer, der zwischen Meer und Wüste in den Himmel ragt, aus fast 100 Kilometern Entfernung zu erkennen. Für die beeindruckende Eröffnungsveranstaltung lieferte spacecannon, ein Unternehmen der Marke Zumtobel, die spektakuläre Lichtinszenierung. Die Lichtinstallation wird den gesamten Dezember über vor den Toren Münchens zu sehen sein – jeden Tag mit Einbruch der Dämmerung. „Der Siemens-Stern des Südens ist eine technologische Pionierleistung und ein wichtiges Symbol vor der Weltklimakonferenz in Kopenhagen. Grüne Innovationen beleuchten unseren Weg in eine bessere Zukunft“, sagte der Siemens-CEO Peter Löscher. „München hat ein neues Wahrzeichen zur Weihnachtszeit. Es steht für Erneuerbare Energien und Energieeffizienz – und das sind wichtige Münchner Themen. Bis 2025 wollen wir die weltweit erste Stadt sein, die ihren kompletten Stromverbrauch aus erneuerbaren Quellen bezieht”, zeigte sich Münchens Oberbürgermeister Christian Ude erfreut. „Ich möchte Kunst herausholen aus der Enge des Museums“, erklärte der Multimedia-Künstler Michael Pendry.
The lighting installation can be seen throughout December at the northern gateway to Munich – beginning at dusk every evening. “The Siemens Superstar is a pioneering technological project and an important symbol for the Global Climate Conference in Copenhagen. Green innovations are lighting our way to a better future,” said Siemens President and CEO Peter Löscher. “Munich has a new landmark for the Christmas season. It stands for renewable energies and energy efficiency – and these are also important issues for Munich. By 2025, we want Munich to be the world’s first city to meet all its energy requirements from renewable sources,” noted Munich’s Mayor Christian Ude enthusiastically. “I like to take art outside the narrow confines of museums,” explained lighting artist Michael Pendry.

Zur UN-Klimakonferenz und als Teil des Lichtfestivals LysLyd zeigen die Medienkünstler Heike Wiermann, Holger Mader und Alexander Stublic (Berlin) ihre neue Lichtinstallation „expanded space“ in Kopenhagen. Das Avedøre Kraftwerk in Kopenhagen wird mit einer Video-Projektion bespielt.During the Climate Conference and as part of the LysLyd Festival the media artists Heike Wiermann, Holger Mader und Alexander Stublic (Berlin) are presenting their new installation „expanded space“ in Copenhagen. The projection will be shown onto the Avedøre power station. -

„Genießen Sie den Weihnachtsbaum, lieben Sie ihn, hassen Sie ihn, zerstören Sie ihn, oder beleben Sie die Tradition wieder!“ Das sind in einem Satz die Intensionen von Johannes Marmon und Johannes Müller von der HfG Karlsruhe. Zu Beginn des Projektes 2004 wussten sie nicht, wozu die Idee führen würde, ob zu Vergnügen oder zu Destruktion. Beide wollten ein Projekt beginnen, an dem jeder, der Lust dazu hat, teilnehmen kann, und dass eine interdisziplinäre Plattform für die verschiedenen Abteilungen in der Schule sein könnte. „Enjoy it, love it, hate it, destroy it and revive it again!“ This just about sums up in one sentence the intentions of Johannes Marmon and Johannes Müller from HfG Karlsruhe. But in fact, at the inception of the project, they didn’t really know where they were going with the idea or what – to all intents and purposes – made for enjoyment and what for destruction. The both wanted to initiate a project everyone participating in would have fun with, one that would bridge the divide between the different departments at the school—a project suspended on a truly interdisciplinary platform. Die Luminale 2010 wird internationaler denn je. Lichtkünstler aus Italien haben sich zu einer Gemeinschaftsausstellung zusammengeschlossen. Niederländische Designer werden sich in einer eigenen Show präsentieren. Aus Hongkong und Singapur sind Licht-Projekte angekündigt. Ebenso von Designern aus Australien. In New York und London ist das Interesse an der Luminale ebenfalls groß. Auch Frankreich wird auf der kommenden Luminale präsent sein. Ein Schwerpunkt wird das Thema Licht und Musik sein. Projektionen und Performances sind ebenfalls in Vorbereitung. Bisher sind rund 150 Vorschläge für Licht-Installationen und Lichtinterventionen im öffentlichen Raum beim Projektbüro Luminale eingegangen. Jetzt beginnt die heiße Phase der Vorbereitung. Sponsoren und Locations müssen bis zum 24. Dezember 2009 für die Umsetzung der ehrgeizigen Projekte gefunden werden.The Luminale in 2010 becomes more international than ever.
