    leni_schwendinger1Triple Bridge Gateway, das jüngste Projekt von Leni Schwendinger in New York ist ein urbanistisches Projekt, einem lange vernachlässigten ‚Unort‘ neues Leben einzuhauchen. Zusammen mit der Port Authority of New York und New Jersey, dem Design-Team von PKSB Architects und Leni Schwendinger Light Projects bringt ‚urban sculpture‘ mit einem wöchentlich wechselnden Programm visueller Kompositionen Leben an diesen Ort.     Chicago. Die International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) hat kürzlich ihre Mitglieder nach ihren wirtschaftlichen Erwartungen für die Zukunft befragt. Das Ergebnis: Die Hälfte ist optimistisch, 7 Prozent sehr und 43 verhalten optimistisch gegenüber 31 Prozent leicht pessimistisch und 15 Prozent stark pessimistisch. The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) recently conducted an economic impact survey in an effort to determine how the current economic downturn is affecting their members and businesses. The following is a summary of the survey results: In spite of the current atmosphere, it is interesting to note that when asked about the coming year, half of all respondents were either strongly optimistic (7%) or slightly optimistic (43%), and a little less than half were either slightly pessimistic (31%) or strongly pessimistic (15%). More than half of all respondents believe this economic recession will last 12 or more months. More>

    Daan Roosegaarde presents his Liquid Space 6.0 first time in Europe. From Japan the installation travelled to its European premiere at STRP Festival. Although filled with technology this interactive artwork creates an organic experience with the visitors, in which some like to watch and some like to engage.[wpyt_profile1]EGvwP4QyLcA[/wpyt_profile1] Daan Roosegaarde präsentiert seinen Liquid Space 6.0 zum ersten Mal in Europa. Die interaktive Kunstinstallation wandert von Japan kommend nach Eindhoven und feiert die europäische Premiere auf dem STRP Festival. Das Objekt reagiert auf seine Besucher, die mit der Installation selbst kommunizieren können und dadurch neue Erfahrungen im Umgang mit interaktiven Objekten machen.

    Spätestens seit der Pariser Weltausstellung 1900 ist elektrisches Licht ein Sinnbild für Modernität. Dies blieb nicht ohne Auswirkungen auf Architektur, Theater, Malerei, Plastik, Fotografie, Film und Musik. Das Bauhaus um den Formmeister László Moholy-Nagy bildete ab 1922 ein Zentrum der neuen Bewegung. Er experimentierte mit Fotogrammen, konstruierte den Licht-Raum-Modulator, ersann ein Polykino und ein Städtelichtspiel. Die Kunsthalle Erfurt zeigt im Rahmen von ‚Bauhaus 2009‘ die Ausstellung ‚Kunstlichtspiele – Lichtästhetik der Klassischen Avantgarde‘. Mehr>

    Electrical light has been a symbol of modernity at the latest since the Paris World Exposition in 1900 and its impact has been felt in architecture, theatre, painting, sculpture, photography, film and music. The Bauhaus around the master of form László Moholy-Nagy formed a centre for the new movement from 1922. He experimented with photograms, constructed the light-space modulator, and devised a poly cinema and an urban light show.
