    Ein Mond, eine trübe Sonne. Die Videoarbeit wird von einem Glasbaustein gespiegelt, das im Glas gebrochene Signal gleichzeitig zu einem sich wandelnden Lichtobjekt. Die Installation „Polar/Licht” sucht nach Orientierung und hinterfragt gewohnte Betrachtungsweisen.A moon, a dim sun. This video work is mirrored in a glass brick, the signal refracted in the glas becomes a changing light object. The installation „Polar/Light” searches for orientation and questions our habitual points of view.

  • Grenzgänger im LichtCross-border Commuters in the Light

    Viele Menschen passieren täglich Grenzen, auch die zwischen Offenbach und Frankfurt. Zwölf dieser Menschen und ihre Geschichte werden fotografisch festgehalten und ihre „Grenzen“ beleuchtet. Das sind bekannte, prominente Leute, es werden aber auch gewöhnliche „Helden des Alltags“ präsentiert. Ort der Installation und des Rahmenprogramms wird die Offenbacher Stadtgrenze sein. Direkt an der Endhaltestelle der Strassenbahnlinie 16 befinden sich im Dreieichpark einzigartige Dokumente des neuen Bauens: Deutschlands älteste Betonmodelle aus dem Jahr 1879. Wir bauen im Dreieichpark – direkt an der Stadtgrenze – eine leuchtende Brücke auf. Sie wird den vorhandenen Betonbogen nochmals überspannen. In diese Brücke werden zwei Leinwände eingehängt sein, auf denen die Fotos der Grenzgänger gezeigt werden.

    There are many cross-border commuters, between Offenbach and Frankfurt too. Twelve of these people and their stories have been photographed and their “borders” illuminated. These are both well-known, prominent people but also normal “everyday heroes”. The installation and the accompanying programme is on the Offenbach city border. Directly at the terminal stop of the tram line 16 unique documentation of new building can be found in the Dreieichpark: Germany’s oldest concrete models from 1879. We have built a shining bridge in the Dreieichpark – directly on the city border. It will span the existing concrete arc. Two canvases will be hung in this bridge on which the photos of the cross-border commuters will be shown.

  • LIGHT ♥ FRANKFURTLIGHT ♥ FRANKFURT

    LIGHT ♥ FRANKFURT ist eine Anspielung auf den unbeschwerten Liebesbeweis im klassischen I♥NY Logo. Ein stilisiertes Herz wird aus sich kreuzenden blutroten Laserstrahlen kreiert, Leidenschaft, Liebe und starke Emotionen symbolisierend, hervorgerufen durch das Medium Licht. Als Designer lieben wir das Medium Licht. Gerade Frankfurt regt dazu an, sich mit Beleuchtung zu beschäftigen. Wir glauben, dass Licht, wenn möglich, unsere Emotionen erwidern würde. Unsere Installation lässt Laserstrahlen explosionsartig aus einer zentralen Quelle schießen. Der innere Kern nimmt dabei die Form eines Herzens an. Einige Strahlen brechen aus, strahlen in die Tiefen des Tunnels und fügen damit der Installation eine dritte Dimension zu. Nebel macht die Laserstrahlen sichtbar, lässt sie aber dennoch mystisch erscheinen. LIGHT ♥ FRANKFURT is a play upon the jovial expression of love declared in the classic I♥NY logo. The stylized heart is rendered by criss-crossing blood red laser beams, that symbolise the passion, love and strong emotion that lighting can inspire. As designers we love the medium of light, and Frankfurt is a city that encourages and embraces good lighting, so we believe that if possible light would return the same sentiment. The installation itself consists of laser beams emerging from a central source as from an explosion, with its inner core taking up the shape of a heart. Some of the beams breake out and are emitted into the depth of the tunnel, adding a third dimension to the installation. Haze is created and used to make the laser beams visible, yet make them appear mystical.

    Zusätzlich ist die Ausstellung eine Hommage an Marinella Pirelli, eine der ganz Großen in der Kinetik- und Lichtkunst, die im Juni 2009 verstarb. Ziel ist, einem internationalen Publikum die ausdrucksvolle, künstlerische Bedeutung in der Arbeit mit Licht vorzustellen – ein Bereich, der zum Wertvollsten des italienischen Designs gehört.

    In addition, the exhibition will be paying homage to Marinella Pirelli, a master of cinetic and light art who died last June 2009. The aim is to highlight and introduce to an international attendance the expressive artistic contents of the lighting, a sector that is already one of the most valuable assets of Italian design. Hence the synergical relationship with Light+Building, both for the media resonance enjoyed by that event and for its technological contents, often shared with this kind of art.
