Alle Belange des ökologischen Bauens sind ebenso berücksichtigt wie eine Vielzahl von innovativen Lösungen. Das Anliegen, Energieeffizienz und Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien, Ergonomie und architektonisches Design miteinander in Einklang zu bringen, wird erfüllt. Die KfW baut herausragende Bürogebäude und wurde bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet.The KfW has obligated itself to the principle of sustainability, even with its buildings. All aspects of ecological building have been taken into account, as have numerous innovative solutions. The aim of combining energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies, ergonometrics and architectural design has been accomplished. The KfW builds outstanding office buildings which have won them many prizes.

  • Küsse im Äther: Küssen Sie mit ProjektionenKisses on the Air: Kiss with Projections


    Der Foto-Künstler Manjit Jari fotografiert vorbeilaufende Menschen bzw. Luminale-Besucher beim Küssen. Jeder kann mitmachen. Die Funkübertragung der Fotos zum Computer erfolgt über einen Beamer auf eine große Leinwand im Freien. Es können aber auch Bilder mit diesen Motiven per Mail eingesandt werden: „Küssende Lippen“ und sich küssende Paare.

    The photo artist Manjit Jari photographs passers by and Luminale visitors kissing. Everyone can join in. The pictures are sent by radio transmission via the computer and beamer to a large scale outdoor screen. Photos can also be emailed with the following subjects: “Kissing Lips” and kissing couples.

    Die Rundfahrt (ca. 90 Minuten) durch den Industriepark Höchst führt entlang der großen Produktions- und Infrastruktur Anlagen des Standortes für 90 Unternehmen und 22.000 Mitarbeiter. Nicht eine spezielle Inszenierung sondern die Notwendigkeiten der Produktion selbst sind es, die die gigantischen Anlagen des Standortes mit ihren Rohrleitungen erhellt und sie in weithin sichtbares Licht taucht.The tour of the Industriepark Höchst (approx. 90 minutes) takes us along the big production and infrastructure plants at this venue for 90 companies and 22000 employees. Not a specially staged illumination but the necessities of production are what illuminate the gigantic plants and their pipes on the premises and make them visible from far afield.

    Since 1864 a fundamental material of human influence has been manufactured in Wiesbaden-Amöneburg on the banks of the Rhine in gigantic furnaces at 1450° C: cement. With the artistic means of a multi-media production interior design students of the Hochschule RheinMain draw a topical picture of human civilisation. Design meets industry.

  • Kohle, Mond und SterneCoal, Moon and Stars

    Der Blick ist schon 365 Tage im Jahr atemberaubend. Hoch oben vom Kesselhausdach des Kohlekraftwerkes Staudinger in Großkrotzenburg zeigt sich die Anlage bei nachtschwarzem Himmel ohnehin schon als große Lichtinszenierung. Seit Ende 2009 besitzt das Kraftwerk ein neues Kohlelager. Dieses wird anlässlich der Luminale 2010 Schwerpunkt der Illumination. Eindrucksvoll erleben die Besucher die neuen Wege der Kohle: Von Schiff und Bahn über Verteilerbauwerk, Bandanlagen bis zu dem großen Kuppelbau, in dem die Kohle nun gelagert wird. Zuvor werfen die Besucher noch einen Blick in die Gipshalle und erfahren in der Turbinenhalle, wie Dampf Strom erzeugt.
    The view is breathtaking 365 days a year. From the roof of the boiler house of the Staudinger coal-fired power station in Großkrotzenburg the plant appears as a great light show in the pitch black sky. Since 2009 the power station has a new coal store. This will be the highlight of the Luminale 2010 illumination. Visitors will experience the new routes coal takes as impressive: from ship and train via the distributor plant, conveyer system up to the great domed building in which the coal is now stored. Beforehand visitors will have a look in the gypsum hall and experience how steam produces electricity in the turbine hall.

  • Licht als ästhetisch-medialer KomplexLight as an aesthetic media Complex

    Die Ausstellung behandelt das Thema Licht als interdisziplinäre Fragestellung mit Bezügen zu Architektur, Design, Kunst und zu Natur- und Geisteswissenschaften. Gezeigt werden Entwürfe und Installationen zusammen mit Recherchen, die von Studierenden der Hochschule Darmstadt erarbeitet wurden.The exhibition focuses on the subject of light as an inter-disciplinary question relating to architecture, design, art and science and humanities. Drafts and installations will be shown together with research compiled by students of the Hochschule Darmstadt.

Sweating is never as nice as behind sunglasses.

  • Cafe MetropolitanCafe Metropolitan

    Das Cafe gleich neben dem Bahnhof wird vom Atelier Mario Haunhorst in Licht, Video & Klang getaucht. Auf den Außenwänden werden in den Abendstunden mit bewegten Licht- und Schattenfiguren witzig-fiktive Cafehaus-Geschichten erzählt. An einem der Abende wird in den Räumen des Steigenberger Metropolitan zudem ein Filmprojekt über die Glas- und Lichtkunst des Atelier Mario Haunhorst in der Bahnhofsunterführung Wiesbaden gezeigt. The cafe adjacent to the railway station is plunged into light, video and sound by Atelier Mario Haunhorst. Funny fictive coffee house stories are told with moving light and dark silhouettes on the façade of the building. On one of the evenings a film project about Atelier Mario Haunhorst’s glass and light art in the underpass at the Wiesbaden station will also be shown on the premises of the Steigenberger Metropolitan.

    Der Gebäudekomplex Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank an den Wallanlagen in direkter Nachbarschaft zum Eschenheimer Turm wird mittels RGB-LEDs farbdynamisch inszeniert. Die Shows wurden von Studierenden der Freien Hochschule Freiburg e.V. entwickelt.The building complex of the Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank at the Wallanlagen in the direct vicinity of the Eschenheimer Turm will be illuminated in dynamic colours by means of RGB LEDs. The shows were developed by students of the Freie Hochschule Freiburg e.V.
