    Social Light Movement soll ein Netzwerk für Lichtdesigner und alle möglichen Partner werden, die an einer Zusammenarbeit interessiert sind, um mit Licht im öffentlichen Raum zu improvisieren. Guerilla Lighting oder Urban Interventions sind Beispiele für solche urbanistische Aktionsformen. In besonderer Wiese sollen diejenigen, die mit miserablen Lichtbedingungen in ihrem Umfeld zu kämpfen haben, von der Kompetenz dieses Netzwerkes profitieren.   • Licht Festivals treffen sich in LyonFestivals of Light meet in Lyon

    Im Light Festival Pavilion auf der LumiVille in Lyon präsentieren sich verschiedene internationale Licht-Festivals. Auch Luminapolis hat dort einen Stand (Halle 66 G 95). Zu den Konferenzteilnehmern gehören Jean-Michel Daclin, Jean-Francois Zurawik, skertzò, Allain Bénini, Laurent Lhuillery, Jürgen Meier, Marit Schulz, Rik van Stiphout, Nicolas Mabille und Masaki Bando. Neben Luminapolis ist die Fete de Lumières (Lyon), Chartres, Leipzig, Eindhoven, Genf und Osaka präsent.     Das Pendel ist Kernstück der sogenannten Energiezentrale des Pavillons, der unter dem Motto „balancity – Stadt in Balance“ steht und vor allem Lösungen made in Germany zur Gestaltung des urbanen Lebens in der Zukunft präsentiert. An einer dünnen Stange befindet sich eine interaktive Kugel mit einen Durchmesser von drei Metern, die mit fast 400.000 LED-Leuchten besetzt ist. Über einen in die Decke des Pavillions integrierten Antrieb wird das rund 1,2 Tonnen schwere und 5,6 Meter lange Pendel zu großen Schwing- und Kreisbewegungen angeregt. Die Besucher können die Kugel über Akustiksignale zum Schwingen bringen und sogar die Richtung des Pendelausschlags beeinflussen. Wissenschaftler der Universität Stuttgart haben in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stuttgarter Eventagentur Milla und Partner ein spezielles Antriebskonzept entwickelt, das dafür sorgt, dass das Pendel zuverlässig in die gewünschte Bewegung versetzt und wieder sicher abgebremst wird. Mehr>This pendulum is the main item of the so-called energy center of the pavilion themed “balancity – city in balance” which presents mainly solutions made in Germany for a better urban life in the future. On thin rod hangs an interactive sphere with a diameter of three meters with approximately 400.000 LEDs. A drive which is integrated in the ceiling of the pavilion excites the almost 1.2 tons heavy and 5.6 m long pendulum so that it makes wide swinging and circular motions. The visitors can activate the sphere by acoustic signals and even influence the direction of the swing. Scientists from the University of Stuttgart in cooperation with the event agency Milla and Partner have developed a specific drive concept which allows the pendulum to start reliably the desired motion and to stop it again without any danger.     Am 16. Mai 1960 zündete der US-Physiker Theodore Maiman den ersten Laserblitz. Licht war damit zum Werkzeug geworden. Zehntausende von Patenten zeigen diese Entwicklung. Vom CD-Spieler bis zur Augenoperation, von der Mülltrennung bis zur Kunst, Anwendungen, die die Leistungsfähigkeit dieser faszinierenden Laser-Technologie dokumentieren. Ein Beispiel dafür ist die Licht-Harfe von Pietro Pirelli, die während der Luminale 2010 – Biennale der Lichtkultur zu sehen und zu hören war.

    2010 ist zum Jahr des Laserfestes ausgerufen worden. Mit zahlreichen Veranstaltungen rund um den Globus. Mehr>

    On the 16th May, 1960 the US physicist Theodore Maiman lit the first laser flash. Light had become a tool. Ten thousands of patents show this development. From the CD player up to ocular operation, from the garbage separation up to the art – examples for the efficiency of this fascinating laser technology. An example of it is the light harp of Pietro Pirelli which was to be seen and to be heard during the Luminale in 2010 – Biennial of the Lighting Culture.

    Überragender Gewinner auch wieder im Jahre 2010: Speirs & Major Associates erhielten die höchste Auszeichnung: den IALD Radiance Award for Excellence für die Außenbeleuchtung der Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Moschee in Abu Dhabi, Vereinigte Arabische Emirate. Luminapolis berichtete bereits über das Projekt. 23 ausgezeichnete Projekte aus 12 Ländern erhielten die begehrten Auszeichnungen des 27. Twenty-three winning projects representing projects from 12 countries comprise the winners of the 27th Annual International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) International Lighting Design Awards Winners, recognized at a presentation held 13 May at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.
