Die Fotos entstanden 2009 auf einer Reise nach Dubai. Die Inszenierung dieser Stadt bietet den realen Hintergrund für das Projekt von Ute Döring. Ausgangspunkt ist eine Serie großformatiger inszenierter Porträts – “Illuminatio I” -, die in den letzten Monaten im Studio entstand. In diesen Porträts erfährt das christliche Symbol der Erleuchtung „illuminatio“ eine moderne Interpretation. The photos were taken in 2009 on a trip to Dubai. This city supplies the real background for Ute Döring’s project. The basis is a series of large-scale portraits – “Illuminatio I” -, which were developed in her studio in recent months. These portraits are a modern interpretation of the Christian symbol of enlightenment „illuminatio“.
