Lighting Urban Community International (LUCI) ist eine Vereinigung, die 2002 auf Initiative der Stadt Lyon entstanden ist. Lyon is bekannt für seinen Lighting Master Plan und sein Licht-Fest.
Frederic Bove, Generaldirektor von LUCI:“ Metropolisation ist eine der grundsätzlichen Entwicklungen des Jahrhunderts und bringt die Notwendigkeit mit sich, mit den Hauptherausforderungen von Urbanism und Stadtleben fertig zu werden. Dabei ist das Lichtthema eines der bedeutendesten. Das ist der Grund, warum LUCI geschaffen wurde und ein Erfolg ist.“
Der Hauptzweck von LUCI ist, Städte aus der ganzen Welt zusammenzubringen, um ein internationales Netz von Städten des Lichtes zu bilden. LUCI ist ein Forum, wo sich Vertreter von Städten treffen, Erfahrungen vergleichen und ihre Sachkenntnisse teilen können. Es bietet die Chance, sich zusammen für einen besseren Gebrauch des Lichtes zu engagieren. Denn es ist eines der Hauptwerkzeuge für städtisches Leben, Architektur und Entwicklung.
Zu den Mitgliedern gehören Städte wie Moskau, Philadelphia, Shanghai, Montreal, Paris, Mailand, Abu Dhabi, Brüssel, Birmingham, Glasgow, Budapest und einige Major Companies wie Philips, Schréder, Thor, Citelum und die Messe Frankfurt…

Lighting Urban Community International (LUCI) is an association created in 2002 on the initiative of the City of Lyon (France), well renowned for its lighting master plan and its light festival. The main purpose of LUCI is to bring together municipalities from around the world to form an international network of cities of light. LUCI is a forum where cities can meet, compare experiences and share their skills. It offers the chance to move together towards better use of light, turning it into a major tool in urban life, architecture and development. The members include cities like Moscow, Philadelphia, Shanghai, Montreal, Paris, Milano, Abu Dhabi, Bruxels, Birmingham, Glasgow, Budapest … some majors companies such as Philips, Schreder, Thor, Citelum, Messe Frankfurt …
