Peter Zumthor ist ein Meister im Umgang mit Licht und Architektur. Zur Zeit läuft im Kunsthaus Bregenz (Architekt: Peter Zumthor) eine große Retrospektive seines Werkes. Im Sommer wurde Kolumba, das Kunstmuseum des Erzbistum Köln, als jüngstes Werk von Zumthor eröffnet.Das Kunsthaus Bregenz ist ein Leuchturm der Lichtkunst. Zumtobel gehört zu den Sponsoren des Hauses. Einige Luminale-Teilnehmer wie Siegrun Appelt haben dort in den letzten Jahren ausgestellt.
