Ein Vortrag von Thomas Schielke: Lichtdecken bieten Raumeindrücke und erlauben verschiedene Arten der Beleuchtung. Außerdem sind sie auch Metaphern des natürlichen Himmels und spiegeln die ästhetische und architektonische Debatte. Ein Blick in die Kunstgeschichte zeigt, dass das Bild des Himmels, das seinen theologischen Höhepunkt in den leuchtenden Stuckdecken der Renaissance erreichte, sich in großangelegten leuchtenden Oberflächen darstellt. Auch wenn die Lichtstärke heutiger LED Screens stark an Intensität zugenommen hat und eine hohe Anziehungskraft entwickelt, so suchen Designer doch eine bildhafte Sprache für eine eindrucksvolle Raumwirkung zu schaffen. Besides this, they are, however, also metaphors of the natural sky and a mirror of an aesthetic and architectural debate. The historical observation of ceilings reveals that the image of heaven, which reached a theological culmination in the luminous Renaissance stucco techniques, turned into large-scale light emanating surfaces. Even if the luminance of contemporary LED screens has increased intensely and thereby creates a point of attraction, designers still look to establish a pictorial language for an impressive appearance. Börsenplatz: Puls der StadtBörsenplatz: Pulse of the City
Jede Stadt fühlt sich anders an. Sie hat ihren ganz eigenen Puls, der durch viele Faktoren beeinflusst ist und ihren Flair bestimmt. Zur Luminale 2010 wird der Puls von FrankfurtRheinMain sichtbar und erlebbar gemacht. BlueMars misst den Puls der Stadt. Verschiedene Sonden nehmen ihn an unterschiedlichen Stellen ab: Besucher der Installation, die Konversation im Internet, Börsenkurse, Verkehrsdaten, Wetterdaten etc. Leuchtende Kuben im öffentlichen Raum repräsentieren die Messpunkte auf dem Börsenplatz vor dem Gebäude der IHK Frankfurt und an der Untermainbrücke. Aus den gesammelten Daten werden grafische Animationen generiert und auf den Kuben in Lichtspiele übersetzt. Jeder Messpunkt bekommt so eine eigene visuelle Repräsentanz und erzeugt im Zusammenspiel eine ganzheitliche Impression.Each city feels different. It has its own pulse, which is influenced by many factors and determines its flair. For Luminale 2010 FrankfurtRheinMain’s pulse will be made visible and tangible. BlueMars will take the city’s pulse. Different probes will measure it at different points: visitors to the installation, market index, internet conversations, traffic data, meteorological data etc. Shining cubes in the public area at Börsenplatz in front of the IHK building and at the Untermainbrücke bridge represent these probes. From the data collected graphic animations will be generated and translated into moving light pictures on the cubes. Each measuring point is given its own visual representation. -

Tokujin Yoshioka: „The idea of this architecture project „Rainbow Church“ dates back to when I was in early 20s. When I was in France for a business trip, I went to Vence, a commune located near Nice. There, I visited the Chapelle du Rosaire, which Henri Matisse, a French painter, created in his last years. I was engrossed in the beauty of the light that the chapel created. I experienced a space filled with the light of Matisse: Being bathed in the sunlight of the Provence, the stained glass with Matisse’s vibrant colors suffused the room with full of colors. Since then, I had been dreaming of designing an architecture where people can feel the light with all senses.This dreaming architecture project will be realized as a concept plan at the exhibition held at MUSEUM. beyondmuseum in Seoul from May, 2010. The exhibition is planned to last until the end of June.
A 9-meter-high stained glass made with approximately 500 crystal prisms will be filling the space with rainbow colors as the light shines on it.“ Mehr>

Eine Anzeigematrix von Boris Petrovsky, die aus einem Liniengewirr von 120 Kaltkathoden-Neonröhren besteht, deren schnell aufscheinende Licht-Linien unvermittelt Zeichen ins Liniengeflecht schreiben, aus denen Worte, Sätze und Botschaften werden. Die Zeichen und Buchstaben werden dabei in Echtzeit stets aus unterschiedlichen Linien tiefenräumlich neu und unterschiedlich zusammengesetzt.A matrix by Boris Petrovsky, which consists of the entanglement of lines of 120 cold-cathode neon tubes, whose flickering light lines suddenly write signs into the network of lines which turn into words, sentences and messages. The signs and letters are hereby re-mixed in real-time out of different lines at different levels. -

Licht- und Medieninstallation in der U-Bahn Station Willy-Brandt-Platz. Die U-Bahn Station Willy-Brandt-Platz ist einer der höchst frequentierten Knotenpunkte in der City von Frankfurt. Sie wird nicht „nur“ von der U-Bahn bestimmt, sie steht vielmehr ganz im Zeichen des Schauspiel Frankfurt. Die Inszenierung des Transitortes nutzt die Licht-Erfahrungen des Theaters für den öffentlichen Raum. „Licht am Ende des Tunnels“ ist eines der wenigen Projekte der Luminale 2010, das nicht nur nachts sondern auch tagsüber zu erleben ist.Light and media installation in the Willy-Brandt-Platz underground station. The Willy-Brandt-Platz underground station is one of the busiest junctions in the city of Frankfurt. It is not just determined by the underground, but also by the theatre, Schauspiel Frankfurt. The illumination of this transit space makes use of the lighting experience of the theatre for this public space. „Light at the End of the Tunnel“ is one of the few Luminale 2010 projects which can be experienced not only at night but also in the daytime.
