  • Luminale 2010 – First Meeting with Representatives of the Cultural RegionLuminale 2010 – Erstes Treffen mit Kommunalvertretern aus der Kulturregion

    Frankfurt am Main. Die Vorbereitungen für die Luminale 2010 haben begonnen. In der letzten Januarwoche fand ein erstes Informationstreffen mit Kommunalvertretern aus der Kulturregion FrankfurtRheinMain statt. Konrad Dörner, Geschäftsführer der Kulturregion Frankfurt RheinMain gGmbH unterstrich die Bedeutung der Luminale für die Rhein-Main-Region. Helmut M. Bien, Kurator der Luminale, stellte das Konzept der Luminale vor. Anschließend rege Diskussion mit Bürgermeistern und Kulturverantwortlichen aus der Region.   • Best Communication Concept by Sebastian Herkner

    Sebastian Herkner, dessen Palmengarten-Inszenierung zur Luminale in bester Erinnerung ist, hat mit dem Standkonzept für die hfg Offenbach auf der imm cologne 2009 den Preis für das beste Standkonzept bekommen. Der Stand wird demnächst auf der Konsumgütermesse ambiente in Frankfurt zu sehen sein. Herkner selbst zeigte in Köln seine ’silhouette‘ (siehe Abbildung).

    Sebastian Herkner whose palm garden-project for Luminale is in the best recollection has received the prize for the best stand with the box of hfg Offenbach on imm cologne in 2009. The stand shall soon be seen on the consumer goods fair Ambiente in Frankfurt. Herkner himself presented his ’silhouette‘ (see picture) in Cologne.

    In diesem Jahr wird der Förderungspreis der Akademie der Künste in der Sektion Baukunst an die in Berlin lebenden und arbeitenden Architekten und Künstler Jan Edler und Tim Edler verliehen. Die Brüder werden damit für Ihre unter dem Label «realities:united» betriebene Arbeit an der Schnittstelle von Architektur, Kunst und Kommunikation ausgezeichnet. realities:united kooperiert regelmäßig mit anderen Architekten wie zum Beispiel der Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG, Kopenhagen), Coop Himmelb(l)au (Wien), Foster & Partners (Berlin/London), MASS Studies (Seoul), Nieto Sobejano (Madrid) sowie WOHA (Singapore). Momentan realisiert realities:united zwei großmaßstäbliche Installationen in Singapore (Fertigstellung 03/2009). Mehr>

    This year the support price of the Akademie der Künste (academy of the arts) in the section architecture is given to Jan Edler and Tim Edler. The brothers are honoured for theirs works under the label „realities:united“. They work on the interface by architecture, art and communication. realities:united cooperates regularly with other architects as for example the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG, Copenhagen), Coop Himmelb(l)au (Vienna), Foster & Partner (Berlin / London), MASS Studies (Seoul), Nieto Sobejano (Madrid) as well as WOHA (Singapore).     AntiVJ has performed in the Cathedral of Breda. For this new creation the organ acts as a central part to both the projections and the music. Key events of the history of the cathedral will be explored in a metaphoric way. More>

  • Lights On Tampa: Casa Magica „Revamp Fort Brooke“

    Eine Installation von Casa Magica eröffnet das Festival Lights On Tampa. Nach der Luminale und dem Festival in Pittsburgh ein weiteres Projekt der Tübinger. Die komplette Fassade des Ford Brooke Parkhauses wird mit sechs Motiven in einer großformatigen Architektur Projektion bespielt. Mehr>

    An installation by Casa Magica will kick off the opening of Lights On Tampa’s on January 10, 2009 at the south-end of the Ft. Brooke Parking Garage. The complete south façade of Fort Brooke Garage will be temporarily illuminated by means of classical still image large format projection. Six different images will be shown throughout the night. Station Rose, 1988 von der Künstlerin Elisa Rose & dem Musiker Gary Danner in Wien ins Leben gerufen, war von Beginn an öffentliches Medienlabor und Aktionsort und wurde mit dem Fortschreiten der Medientechnologien (Internet) zunehmend virtualisiert. Anlässlich des Jubiläums wird wieder ein realer Ort manifest. Station Rose ist seit Anfang der 90er Jahre in Frankfurt ansässig. Mehr>
